The album catalogs the contents of George Jay Gould's art collection in 1945. The title of the catalog is listed as "The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. George Jay Gould, 1945." This annotation appears on the title page: "This collection is partly in New York and partly at the Chateau du Sentier, Indres et Loire, France. verbally, Geo Jay Gould, Feb. 1946, H.G.J."
