Scope and Contents note
Primarily the correspondence and memos of Helen Clay Frick and Library staff with staff researchers Isobel Binks and Clotilde Brière regarding their findings about Houdon works. Also contains letters from museums and galleries relating information about Houdon works or regarding the purchase of photographs. Of note are Isobel Binks' detailed reports of her 1938 research trip to Paris where she visited dealers, museums, restorers, and private owners... in tracking down authentic and fake Houdons. Correspondence related to a specific Houdon work are filed in Series III. Works of Houdon under subject/title.
