Purchased 19 December 1906 from M. Knoedler & Co., New York, N.Y. "Portrait of Mrs. Harcourt" was sold to J. Pierpont Morgan, 21 September 1909.

Folder contains correspondence with Charles Carstairs and M. Knoedler & Co., accounts payable voucher (No. 7879), notes, and red envelopes (Nos. 149 and 150), along with items from Bill Book No. 2 and the Red Book. Contents include note in Frick's hand re deposit of check received from Morgan ("...balance 5000$ will be used by him to make me a life member Met Museum of Art, N.Y."), and letter from M. Knoedler & Co. confirming delivery of the painting to Morgan's Library. Other paintings/artists mentioned include "Le Lac" by Corot, "The Bridge" by Maris, and Gainsborough.
