Series II: Bills, Receipts, Vouchers, 1933-1937

 Series

Scope and Contents note

The series is arranged numerically by requisition number and follows a monthly chronological order. Within the folders, the materials are arranged alphabetically by company name. Found in Series II are subcontractors' bills and the following items submitted by the General Contractor, Marc Eidlitz & Son: numbered bills, payroll summaries, requisition claims and vouchers. Subcontractors' bills list order number, work completed, materials and cost. Numbered bills issued by Marc Eidlitz & Son list cash expenses incurred. Weekly payroll sheets detail workers' name, hours worked and description of work completed. Summary payroll sheets list workers' name, position, hours worked and pay rate for each week. Vouchers are designated as equipment, material and cartage, or receipt. Vouchers, along with requisitions, detail contract sum, credit orders and balance due. In some instances, the subcontractor has filled out an "analysis of value of work completed" in a space provided on the verso of the form.

Folders have been assigned a supplemental letter following the folder title to reflect the original grouping of the records within the envelopes they were contained. The bulk of envelopes that held the records were addressed to Frederick Mortimer Clapp, Organizing Director of The Frick Collection, from the Office of John Russell Pope. Additional handwritten information, found on the face of the envelope, including record type, requisition number, and date recorded, has been copied in a note following the folder title. The envelope face has been retained and is filed in a folder at the end of the series.
