Majority of the requests were denied, except for Trenchard Cox, who viewed paintings in the vault; Philip Hendy of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, who was shown the Bellini; and Chauncey B. Tinker, who was shown Gainsborough's The Mall in St. James's Park.
