Series II: Correspondence and Notes, 1952-1954

Arranged chronologically unless noted otherwise below. Notes are filed after correspondence at the end of the folder. Series contains Mitchell’s correspondence with museums, dealers, and owners of Ellsworth paintings regarding specific paintings or lost paintings, biographical information about Ellsworth, genealogical information about sitters, and general research. General research topics include ladies’ caps and chair styles as depicted in Ellsworth’s portraits. The first folder in the series contains supplemental information to Series I: Data Sheets.
