Emmanuel Gottlieb Leutze was a German-American history painter best known for his painting Washington Crossing the Delaware. This series contains materials regarding a Smithsonian exhibition of Leutze paintings and preparation of a biography and catalogue raisonn├®. Wunder was involved with these projects during his tenure as Curator of Painting and Sculpture for the National Collection of Fine Arts, Smithsonian. Included are artwork files, correspondence, notes and clippings, and various writings on Leutze.
