Subseries 3: Artists

Consists of clippings, exhibition catalogs, biographical information, press releases, and correspondence. Original artist correspondence is noted when present. Most of the correspondence is between the editors of the Index, Greta A. Cornell and Frances M. Pollack, and American artists, including Paul Manship, Alexander Archipenko, Walter Pach and Alexander Stirling Calder. French artists are also represented. Not all artists who appeared in The Index of Twentieth Century Artists are represented in these files.
