Series IV: Inventories and Appraisals
Scope and Content Note
This series, 1907-1972 and undated, contains general household and estate inventories, as well as those focusing on a particular group of objects, such as furnishings, silver, or linens. The earliest household inventory dates from the 1907, the year after the house's completion. Inventories of electrical fixtures date from around the time the house was altered by Helen Clay Frick in 1938, while several inventories of furnishings date from the 1950s, when Helen Clay Frick began to disperse objects among family members and friends. The 1972 property appraisal in this series was compiled after the house's demolition.
For additional inventories, see Series VI: W.J. Naughton Files. For further information regarding appraisal of the property, see Series VIII: Property.
General inventories are grouped at the beginning of the series; other inventories are arranged alphabetically by type.
