Scope and Content Note

This album documents the first extended trip taken in the Frick family's private rail car, The Westmoreland. Adelaide H.C. Frick, Childs Frick, Helen Clay Frick, and Dorothea Harding departed on 1 March 1911, and returned one month later. The itinerary for the trip included stops in New Orleans; Marfa, Texas; a petrified forest in Arizona; and locations throughout California, such as Monterey, Riverside, Santa Barbara, Redlands, Coronado, Santa Cruz, and Yosemite National Park.
