Photograph album documenting a trip to California taken by the Frick family in 1903 aboard a private railroad car. Places visited include Cincinnati; New Orleans; Indio, Tex.; Yuma, Ariz.; Santa Barbara; Los Angeles; Pasadena; Catalina Island; San Gabriel Mission; San Diego; Redlands; Monterey; San Francisco; the Grand Canyon; Portland, Or.; and Revelstoke, Can. Other images include an ostrich farm, Native Americans in various locations, and hand-colored prints of San Francisco's Chinatown.

Album dated to 1903 per Voucher #5319 (payment for porter on private car "Indiana" to California; see: Henry Clay Frick Papers, Series III: Voucher Files). Henry Clay Frick joined his family already in California in late March of that year, and returned home in April.
