Abstract

The international artists featured in this growing collection include painters, sculptors and muralists born in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Their images were captured by various photographers and printmakers in a variety of settings and portrait styles. Formats include cabinet cards, postcards, prints on paper, and photographs. Seven of the photographs were signed by the artists, four of which were personally addressed to Mrs. Adelaide Frick (wife of Henry Clay Frick).

Scope and Content Note Album contains photographs taken by Helen Clay Frick during the latter portion of the Frick family's 1912 trip abroad. People depicted in the album include Helen Clay Frick's mother, Adelaide H.C. Frick, her future sister-in-law, Frances Shoemaker Dixon, and her governess, Marika Ogiz, as well as J. Volume one is a small sketchbook containing approximately 30 pencil drawings of lake and mountain landscapes and structures in the Swiss Alps, many with captions, along with some drawings of Parisian figures at the end.

Volume two is a small sketchbook containing approximately 35 pencil sketches of landscapes, figures, and botanical objects, and one page of musical notation.
